Demand for high-speed internet has been surging in recent years, and this trend isn’t about to slow down anytime soon. Nearly every household and business in the United Kingdom is connected to the Internet nowadays, and meeting this demand requires continuous investment in the necessary resources and management of infrastructure.
Despite efforts in recent years to upgrade the fibre optic infrastructure that helps to keep everyone connected and bring the internet to people’s homes and offices, a study conducted by the University of Cambridge found that existing fibre optic infrastructure will be unable to support the demand for high-speed internet in the coming years.
These services are not only important to individuals and businesses, but play a vital role in the wider economic activity of the United Kingdom. On top of this, government agencies largely rely on mobile network infrastructure, broadband and fibre optic connectivity, data centres and cloud services, among other things to ensure continuous support for various agencies and day-to-day functions.
