Go Awards Scotland 2014/15 – another fantastic night for public procurement!

The winners and highly commended entrants for the GO Excellence in Public Procurement Awards Scotland 2014/15 were announced at a stunning black tie event last night in Glasgow’s Marriott Hotel.

The night itself highlighted another incredible year for the GO Awards, with a number of massively impressive submissions in every category represented the incredible initiatives being carried out every day in public procurement in Scotland.

All entries were reviewed by a panel of eight judges made up of experts in Scottish and UK procurement including Alastair Merrill, Director, Procurement and Commercial, at the Scottish Government and John F McClelland CBE, author of The McClelland Report, a review of public sector procurement in Scotland.

Winners of this years’ Tracker sponsored awards

And this year, Tracker sponsored another award – the GO Procurement Innovation or Initiative of the Year Award!

There were two Highly Commended accolades for the award including the NHSS National Procurement in partnership with Haven PTS and Dimensions UK Ltd and the Scottish Borders Council.

Peter McConnell from the NHSS National Procurement in partnership with Haven PTS and Dimensions UK Ltd said: “This award is fantastic. It’s been a real journey. We’d absolutely love to enter the Go Awards again. Yes we would!”

And Kathryn Dickson of the Scottish Borders Council said: “This is fabulous recognition for the hard work that we’ve all put in. It strengthens the relationship we have with our Social Care Team and it’s fabulous to see this outcome. We’d for sure enter the GO Awards again and we’ve got some ideas already.”

However, there could only be one winner! The top prize for the award went to the Scottish Prison Service!

Andy Door of the Scottish Prison Service said: “This award is great recognition for the team work and the effort that’s been put in to do something real. We’ll take this model we’ve developed and help apply it across the prison service.”
